“Avec de faux-semblants de Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson, Hanni El Khatib ou encore That Ghost, Scott allume une première étincelle avec « It », un titre hanté, cramé, rendu hypnotisant avec ses riffs en escaliers qui se répètent inlassablement. Direct, simple comme bonjour, mais bon dieu, quel tube! Des titres lo-fi bordées par une telle classe, une telle authenticité, ça ne court pas les rues. En revanche, sur Mud Bay, c’est apparemment la base (la pop entêtante de « Cold Turkey »). Avec Mythologies, on privilégie davantage l’ambiance au rythme, mais ça ne se révèle pas gênant. Au contraire, des mélodies vagabondes comme « Keeps On Coming » et surtout l’immense « Guernica », suspendue dans l’obscurité à quelques mètres du sol, ça vous happe en un rien de temps. Écouter Mud Bay, c’est assister en continu à la cour des miracles. Avec trois fois rien mais pas mal de talent, Issac Scott a déjà créé son petit monde. Petit monde qui a de la gueule.
